Today, IDW Publishing announced the release of a new comic book series written by Kevin Eastman. I don't know if you remember the name Eastman as in Eastman and Laird, but here is the new comic book cover:
Look familiar? Issue 1 came out yesterday. To many of the younger generation, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael are best known as Ninja Turtles rather than as Renaissance artists. Leonardo is different because we all know him better as a background character from a Tom Hanks movie.
According to IDW Publishing, "the first arc will tell the origin story of the Turtles and introduce a new villain, the fearsome mutant alley cat, Old Hob. Featuring a cast of familiar characters, including Master Splinter, April O'Neill, Casey Jones, and true to the spirit of the original comics created by Eastman and Peter Laird, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES are bigger and badder than ever, and ready to rock old and new fans alike." Think I'll head out to the comic book store tomorrow before they are all gone. Let me know if you want me to grab a copy for you.
