5. My most wanted thing (if Steve can help me learn how to use it) is the MakerBot Replicator. A real - life 3D printer. You send it the instructions from your computer and it builds a 3D object for you out of plastic.
$1749 (plus $249 if you want to print in 2 colors). On the website you can buy extra spools of filament in magenta, yellow, nuclear green, and orange if you get tired of the black and white. It's an open source device, so you can submit any designs you create and other people can download the code and build them for free. The designs are available at Thingiverse and include

It will make anything up to the size of a loaf of bread. If you want something bigger, you just have to build it in smaller pieces and attach the pieces together. If I start now, I could make everybody's Christmas gift this year. Well worth the money, don't you think?
